The Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to support the Innovation Technology team: by supporting technical Tire Information Systems developments for commercial and consumer applications.

Understand business requirements and deliver technology that meets performance, cost and quality standards. Support development of Goodyear’s strategy in the area of commercial and consumer tire information systems.

Key missions:

Actively support the Tire Information Systems projects:

  • Develop safety architectures and safety plans to ensure compliance with ISO 26262.
  • Coordinate all activities related to functional safety according to ISO 26262, in all relevant phases of the project.
  • Support the definition and improvement of processes, methods and tools for functional safety.
  • Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles.
  • Prepare and support safety assessments and audits for safety relevant projects.
  • Discuss functional safety related topics with customers and suppliers.

To join our team you will need:

Experience and skills :

  • At least 5 years hands-on experience on ISO 26262 (at least 2 years in the role of automotive functional safety engineer) (preferred at tier1 system supplier).Official certification required.
  • Experience with E/E products development lifecycle (Systems, Software)
  • Experience in Software Quality and process (e.g. SPICE, CMMI)
  • Knowledge of Requirements Management tools (e.g. DOORS, Polarion, Integrity, …)
  • Experience with methods and tools for hardware and/or software development for embedded systems and/or sensors
  • Experience in SW development and/or model based design
  • Familiarity with telematics and RF data transmission

Education:

  • Engineering master degree. A PhD is considered an asset.

Languages:

  • English is mandatory. German and/or French are considered as a plus.

IT, Soft Skills & others:  

  • Self-motivated, accepts difficult challenges and think out of the box. Adaptability & versatility are key.
  • Enthusiastic team player, self learning with interest in automotive world.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel domestically/internationally up to 25%.
