THE CHALLENGE
Supervisor/Team Leader Manufacturing – Cell Culture or Fermentation, reports to the Associate Director, Manufacturing. Job Summary/Principle Accountabilities:
JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will be responsible for Supervising Manufacturing Associates, schedules shift tasks, ensures GMP compliance and safety, drafts and reviews manufacturing documents. Trouble shoots, recruits and coordinates with other departments. Further, you will act as the point person and expert in the different unit operations and represents manufacturing in cross-functional start-up teams.
You will be responsible for managing and developing either the Cell Culture or Purification Team.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-Schedules and directs daily manufacturing activities, timely communicating scheduling changes/issues to their staff and management
-Performs manufacturing activities according to CGMP. Ensures completion of batch records following SOPs. Evaluates test results, identifies and resolves deviations
-Troubleshoots operational and equipment problems and makes recommendations. Coordinates and drafts revisions of batch related documents, including SLRs and SOPs. Authoring of SOP for the different unit operations. Follows up on production, ensure GMP compliance and train employees.
-Train Manufacturing Associates on process activities, including Safety requirements and CGMP requirements
-Hires and develops a well-functioning team – focusing on values and culture. Ensure establishment of goals and development plans for employees
-Supervises validation activities, ensuring proper and timely execution of validation protocols required in the areas
-Coordinates manufacturing activities with other departments; provides updates to production schedulers and working closely with quality control, materials management, manufacturing science, validation, facilities, process engineering etc.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
-Solid GMP knowledge and practical understanding of biotech/pharma production processes and unit operations, preferably gained within Cell Culture or fermentation in manufacturing or process development environment – within biotech, pharmaceutical or food production
-Minimum 5 to 7 years of working experience within mentioned segments
-Managerial experience would be beneficial – not an absolute must
-Moderate to advanced knowledge when it comes to processing equipment
-Solid knowledge of the engineering and scientific principles associated with their areas of responsibility
-Relevant educational background like e.g. M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or scientific discipline
-Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Danish (Danish not a must)
-Experience from working cross-functionally as well as working with people from different cultures
-Excellent IT skills
