Postdoc position in MEMS Devices for Quantum Technologies

DTU Danchip has an open position for a postdoc in MEMS/NEMS devices for quantum technologies. The position is part of the newly established Quantum Innovation Center Qubiz, funded by the Danish Innovation Foundation.

The work will be carried out in very close collaboration between the group of Professor Eugene Polzik at Copenhagen University and DTU Danchip the National Center for Micro- and Nanofabrication located at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby (10 km north of Copenhagen).

Responsibilities and tasks

The main responsibilities include hands-on process development and optimization as well as support and guidance of the graduate students within Qubiz in cleanroom fabrication tasks. The successful candidate has a Ph.D. degree and several years of cleanroom experience in a state of the art Facility.

The candidate has to be familiar with cleanroom processing of silicon based MEMS devices, establishing process flows and lithography mask design. Documented experience with UV-photolithography, wet chemistry processing, plasma etching (RIE), thin film deposition and the use of standard characterization tools (AFM and optical) is a requirement for the position.

Experience in one or more of the following areas: SiN thin films and membranes, superconducting materials, piezoelectrics, e-beam, DUV, reactive ion etching, and in particular vacuum packaging, is an advantage.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years.
