Do you have strong analytical and commercial skills?
Join us and become Forecast Analyst in Forecasting which is responsible for forecasting gas and power consumption in the markets where Distribution & Customer Solutions is active, with the core aim of optimising revenue and costs. We have interfaces with both the sales and trading departments within the group. We use strong market insights and utilise synergies across markets to deliver high quality and robust forecasts.
The department is part of Distribution & Customer Solutions which has 1500 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Distribution & Customer Solutions handles the production from our wind farms and oil and gas fields to the energy exchanges and customers in Northern Europe, and we distribute electricity and natural gas to businesses and private customers in Denmark.
You will be based at our office in Virum in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.
Your key duties will be to
- maintain and further develop our imbalance pricing tool (coded in MatLab).
- participate in the weekend surveillance duty roster together with the rest of the team.
- maintain dialogue with and commercial focus towards the sales departments.
- follow up on realised costs and forecast performance, and conduct analyses on an ad hoc basis.
- improve forecast quality by optimising neural network models or by using other techniques.
Your qualifications and core competences include that you
- have a master's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics or similar.
- have experience with coding and (preferably also) modelling in MatLab.
- are a team player and have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks.
- speak and write English fluently – spoken and written German and/or Danish is a further advantage – and thrive in an international environment.
- have a commercial focus and are able to create and maintain good relationships with your stakeholders.
