The position we offer
Risk Management at Nordea is entering the new era. Not only we are revamping the whole IT infrastructure, we also are driven by highly demanding regulatory environment and new business opportunities.
In the new world systems become real-time, consisting of many moving parts, deployed across many machines in different datacenters. Our systems operate with millions of deals and terabytes of data. They use thousands of grid cores and produce billions of records.
At the same time business functions they are performing becoming more complex, highly integrated and plugged back into valuation models which implies changing of business processes and making them more simple and effective will be crucial.
You will be working as a Business Support Specialist co-located with business and daily working with them side-by-side. You will need to perfectly understand the business, systems and business processes.
On one hand you should understand how risk model works, why this value is calculated this way or be able to make a suggestion in case you see the processes are not effective and can be re-engineered, on the other hand you should be technical enough to login to backend server and check logs, do database query, understand technical implications and talk with an engineering team about potential problems.

The qualifications you need
You are a fast learner with active life position. You are an excellent communicator and a pedant person who can trace a complicated issue while not being afraid of complex problems.
You are interested in growing your business domain knowledge, learn about Risks, Trading and Compliance.
You also feel fluent in SQL and data analysis, understand how IT systems are built, able to drill through logs and alert logs.
You:
-know Market Risk management fundamentals or eager to learn them very quickly
-have proven data analysis skills – SQL, OLAP, etc.
-are an advanced Excel user
-are a basic Linux user or eager to learn it quickly
-communicate effectively at all levels in an organisation between business and IT teams
-like to adopt and reuse the work of others
-enjoy complex problem solving and thrive when challenged
-like getting things done
-are curious
You will be based in Copenhagen in a very international working environment and fluent English is essential.
