Are you an experienced Software Test Developer? Would you like to become part of an international, truly innovative work environment and a large R&D organization with more than 450 highly skilled and dedicated engineers? Does the thought of delivering high quality and competitive software and hardware solutions excite you? Then you should apply for the job as Software Tester with Oticon.
Testing complex software
In your new role, you will become part of the Fitting Solutions team, an R&D unit consisting of audiologists, software developers and software testers. The team focuses on creating competitive fitting software for audiologists and clinics, with the ultimate goal of delivering innovative and rock solid software to our customers.
You can look forward to a challenging position, where your main tasks and responsibilities consist of:
- Taking responsibility for verification of deliveries from developers and working closely with developers to ensure the best SW quality
- Selecting the right test approach for a given task and developing related test scenarios and cases
- Applying appropriate test design techniques to obtain the right degree of coverage.
- Test design within our test automation framework (TestComplete-based)
- Execution of both scripted and exploratory testing.
- Using your experience to provide advice on the test approach to developers and audiologists
- Reviewing requirements and software design for completeness and testability
- Pier review of tests
- Analyzing and reporting of test results
- Working with teams from other functions during integration testing
In this role, the main interfaces are software developers, audiologists and test colleagues in the team.
Your professional background
We expect you to have a degree at minimum BSc level within Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar plus a couple of years of work experience. However, if you can prove a solid and profound test experience we also consider candidates without an academic background.
Your previous work experience includes working with software test development and execution within an area of complex technology and ideally, mixed hardware/software solutions. Overall, your practice has given you a deep understanding of test methods and tools.
Furthermore, you should have some knowledge in programming languages, preferably C#, and general knowledge of software development principles and processes. For the review of unit tests, it is an advantage if you are experienced in coverage metrics and understand how to select the right coverage of unit interfaces.
Your personal competencies
You are self-driven and taking over responsibility - you know what to test, how to test it and plan, structure and prioritize your test activities yourself. Furthermore, since you will be working in a large, complex organization, we expect you to be able to communicate test plans and activities in a clear and concise manner. Others see you as a person with a lot of drive and initiative and as someone who makes things happen. In addition, you value being part of a team, being supportive and assisting your colleagues when needed. As your day-to-day activities include working with international colleagues, we expect you to be fluent in English.
