Job offer description

Novo Nordisk A/S

Gladsaxe, 1 stilling

- Safety

- Denmark - Bagsværd

In this job, you will be part of a department that supports a growing global organisation to ensure that Novo Nordisk provides a healthy and safe working environment for everyone. If you find challenges like this exciting and inspiring, you may be our new Global Safety Specialist.

About the department

The job is located in Corporate Occupational Health and Safety (COHS) which is a global centre of excellence under Corporate People and Organisation primarily located in Bagsværd. The unit consists of project managers and OHS experts with expertise in safety, ergonomics, indoor climate, organisational psychology, employee health, medicine, biology and chemistry. COHS’ role is twofold: via a key account manager set up COHS supports the organisation directly with local challenges. In addition, COHS sets global direction for how Novo Nordisk governs its health and safety work, and how Novo Nordisk addresses important health and safety risk areas at a corporate level.

The job

Novo Nordisk embraces a zero injury mind-set and has set 2020 ambitions for the safety performance in the organisation. However, Novo Nordisk is at a stage where something different has to be done to improve safety performance. We offer a challenging position with strategic responsibility for driving the safety agenda in Novo Nordisk in close collaboration with Senior Management, Line of Business and colleagues in COHS.

We expect that you set clear direction and have the ability to drive cross-functional projects in a growing global organisation. You lead this work on the basis of a profound understanding of the needs of a global organisation collected through the interpretation of data and in-depth stakeholder dialogues.

In addition, we expect that you translate strategy into action. You conceptualise and implement easy to use tools and enable the sharing of best practice across the global organisation.

Qualifications

You hold a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. in engineering or an equivalent technical education with strong focus on workplace safety. You have min. 10 years of experience within workplace safety from an international company with production facilities, preferably combined with at least 3 years of relevant experience in leading global safety initiatives.

You understand the challenge of developing and implementing cross-organisational initiatives, which support the sustainable future of a global value-driven company, while at the same time supporting local management’s ability to keep the business running smoothly. You are able to document your business accomplishments via Senior Management references.

You have strong project management-, communication- and strategic planning skills. Your experience allows you to turn complex matters into simple solutions. As a person you are result-oriented and structured - and your commitment is catching. You have a high level of drive, initiative and persistence, and you have a good business and intercultural understanding and know how to engage all levels of the organisation.

English is our corporate language, and hence it is a prerequisite that you speak and write English fluently. You work comfortably in MS Office (experienced in PowerPoint and Excel). It is also important that you approach tasks and colleagues with a positive attitude, energy and a good sense of humour.

At Novo Nordisk, decisions and actions are based on their impact on society, the environment and on their potential to generate a profit. That makes for a responsible culture with a healthy and engaging working environment and highly committed employees.
