Help build recommendation engines You join the new Big Data & Advanced Analytics team within Global Insights that are responsible for all market research and insights generation within the LEGO Group. The team is to develop and analyse big data to deliver insights, enabling us to personalise consumer experiences and drive deeper brand engagement through the recommendation engines you help develop. We are at the start of something new, and your responsibilities are expected to develop as we go along, but to begin with you: Work with internal stakeholders and external specialists to develop recommendation engines. Support developing modelling algorithms for key strategic project, where your skills help us in delivering recommendations to our followers on digital channels. Deliver ad-hoc analytics to internal stakeholders in the wider organisation and service other analytics initiatives within Product and Marketing Development. Background in statistical modelling, data discovery and analytics To succeed in this position, you need to be able and willing to learn quickly. You find it both interesting and natural to question data and combine data sets to uncover new knowledge. In addition, you apply a structured and analytical approach to your tasks and enjoy using your collaborative nature and your willingness to be part of a team that delivers together and you: Hold a degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science. Have 0-3 years of experience working with data science. Have a solid understanding of statistics - in particular hypothesis testing and model validation. Are familiar with methods of recommendation engines (similarity indexes, decision trees, random forests, collaborative filtering, etc.). Have experience with data extraction, data cleansing and statistical modelling with at least one advanced analytics tool/platform, preferably R or Python. Need to be able to travel to both internal projects and external conferences, especially within Europe, for a limited amount of time. Speak and write English fluently.
