Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of Process Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the Process Engineering, Purification group within the Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities (MEF) Department. Your efforts help maintain highly reliable and compliant process equipment and systems that support Bulk Drug Substance manufacturing.
Your responsibilities will be following:
• With the Process Engineering AD and peer manager, co-managing the Process Engineering annual operational expense budget and the annual sustaining capital budgets.
• Directing lead engineers and staff in the execution of the day to day support to manufacturing operations.
• Monitoring the performance of the department against operational goals, managing group of 4-5 staff.
• Maintaining the process equipment and systems in a safe and compliant state.
• Making sure that the department procedures are aligned with other sites and that best practices are implemented, as applicable.
• Identifying and implementing system improvements and capital upgrades to maintain and increase facility efficiencies and operations.
• Supporting presentation of and defending the site’s engineering programs to regulatory agencies, and coordinating responses to regulatory filing queries or requests.
• Performing regular and periodic department performance metrics reviews.
• Identify areas for improvement to reduce energy or water consumption.
• Providing career development and performance coaching for direct reports.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a relevant degree in a scientific or engineering subject combined with solid experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment. You have gained hands-on experience with Process Equipment as well as support system design and operational knowledge incl. practical understanding of GMP’s, Delta-V, PLCs, P&ID’s and SOP’s. To achieve success you will need a systematic and analytical approach and be able to maintain the general view when working on several projects simultaneously and deliver your tasks in due time. *LI-DEN2
Education Minimum Bachelor degree in a scientific or engineering subject
