About the organisation
Sahlgrenska University Hospital operates in the area of Gothenburg, in in Region Västra Götaland. It is one of the largest hospitals in Europe with around 16,800 employees, more than 96,000 medical care events, nearly 1.4 million outpatient visits and 202,575 emergency visits.We are the hospital for Gothenburg’s inhabitants and a specialist hospital in Region Västra Götaland. We also receive patients from all over Sweden for particularly advanced operations and treatment.
We have a close co-operation with the Sahlgrenska Academy at Gothenburg University and Chalmers University of Technology as well as other regional actors, which ensures good conditions for a productive research climate where new findings can be tested clinically and introduced widely.
