The Opportunity

Support technical Tire Information Systems developments for commercial and consumer applications.

Be part of a global technology development team. Understand business requirements and deliver technology that meets performance, cost and quality standards. Support development of Goodyear’s strategy in the area of commercial and consumer tire information systems.

Key missions:

Actively support the Tire Information Systems projects:

  • Establish with team a realistic project plan, assessing the risk by using the project management principles.
  • Manage the technical relationship with external development partner.
  • Support lab & road testing and help to prepare equipment and tires for tests
  • Process and analyze data acquired during tests, by using/developing new post-processing tools.
  • Support the team with technical questions on the overall proposed service.
  • Troubleshoot customers issues during operations.
  • Technically investigate new markets.
  • Prepare units for installations.

To join our team you will need:

Experience and skills :

  • Practical experience in sensor system design, instrumentation and signal processing.
  •  Wireless data transmission (e.g. UWB, ISM 433MHz, RFID UHF 866MHz, LF 131MHz, NFC 13.56MHz, Bluetooth LE,…)
  •  Knowledge of battery technology to power sensors / telematics devices and energy harvesting for low power applications
  •  Automotive hardware knowledge (signal conditioning, data acquisition, data transmission, to environmental testing and certifications)
  • Fluent with commercial vehicle data bus systems ( e.g. J1939 CAN) and vehicle bus instrumentation tools
  • Background in automotive quality standards
  • Ability to support the development and validation of new algorithms.
  • Experience with virtual sensing techniques and their applications are a great asset.
  • Strong statistical background and deep knowledge of the estimation theory.

Education:

  • Master degree in electronics / computer science / information systems. A PhD is considered an asset.

Languages:

  • English is mandatory. German and/or French are considered as a plus.

Experience:

  • 5- 10 years of experience in the design of automotive sensing systems
  • High proficiency with PC and MS Office, and solid programming skills with general purpose software like Matlab or Python.
  • Expertise in cloud computing or Big-data analysis is an asset.

  • Self-motivated, accepts difficult challenges and think out of the box. Adaptability & versatility are key.
  • Enthusiastic team player, self learning with interest in automotive world.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal.
