Begin your journey of a lifetime in September 2016.

If you are ready to discover just how far your talent can take you, we invite you to explore our Global Development Graduate Programme.

In Global Development, we lead the clinical activities from entering a clinical testing through the submission and approval phase and when the drug has entered the market. Our responsibility is to provide medical and scientific documentation for the clinical benefit-risk evaluation that is part of submission packages to authorities and which form the basis for guidance on how to use the medicines optimally to the benefit of patients.

We are +1,100 employees covering profiles such as trial managers, medical doctors, data managers, biostatisticians and many others. We conduct clinical trials in more than 50 countries and in 2014 we collaborated with approximately 40,000 patients across 135 clinical trials.

Our graduate programme is a solid platform and a unique opportunity to use your degree to make a difference.

Scope of the programme

The two-year programme consists of three rotations in different parts of the Global Development organisation or areas with strong ties to Global Development - but anchored in the Trial Management skill area. The aim of the Trial Management Graduate Programme is to give you extensive exposure to the role as an International Trial Manager (ITM) with a strong focus on competencies such as communication, team leadership and project management skills.

You will be given a broad range of ITM responsibilities and experience a variety of projects from cross-departmental project work, stakeholder management and have assignments within trial management in the initiation, execution or finalisation phase of a clinical trial.

You will get a unique insight into the full global development value chain of Novo Nordisk, and you will be part of a highly skilled and motivated international working environment, with dynamic teams, each of which are providing Novo Nordisk with a competitive edge and driving state of the art drug development.

You will enjoy the privilege of being part of both formal and informal graduate networks which will allow you to broaden your learning’s even further, while building your opportunities and relationships across the company.

The job

The Trial Management Graduate Programme is tailored to ensure your personal and professional development as an ITM, accelerated by prioritised training and dedicated coaching from experienced colleagues. The programme comprises three 8-month rotations during a two-year period.

The first rotation is planned to take place within Trial Management in one of the projects in our corporate headquarter in Denmark. The main purpose of this rotation is to gain an understanding of the ITM areas of responsibilities and the governance of clinical trials via Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

The second rotation is planned to be in an affiliate outside of Denmark. This is the rotation where you will get insight into Trial Management from a local perspective. This will give you a unique international perspective that will prove invaluable as new markets continue to evolve for Novo Nordisk.

The third rotation will most likely take place within either Trial Management or a department with strong ties to Trial Management in headquarters, Denmark. During this final rotation the graduate will work more independently and will have the opportunity either work as an ITM or to showcase the importance of Trial Management within other areas in drug development.

What does an International Trial Manager do

As an International Trial Manager you will lead the setup and execution of a clinical trial as part of the development of a new drug or the life cycle management of a marketed product.

Key responsibilities:

Participating in or leading a Study Group and an International Study Group to ensure effective collaboration across business areas

Proactively ensure that the internal and external requirements including ethical aspect are integrated in the clinical trial setup and execution

Ensure global consistency within the trial management related activities to deliver quality clinical data and documentation

You are change-prepared and ready to relocate to Denmark for the start of the programme in September, 2016.

You are independent, flexible and efficient with a ‘can-do’ attitude. You are a true team player with strong social skills and you manage cross-functional collaboration well. You have a solid academic background, outstanding academic achievements and the ability to solve tasks on short notice. Working at the cutting-edge of a highly complex and innovative industry, you must be able to learn fast, excel at cross-functional collaboration and communicate your great ideas well.
