We Offer

The Verified Container Weight (VCW) project is a compliance project. The regulation was endorsed by International

Maritime Organization (IMO) in November 2014 and to take effect from 1st July 2016. The new compliance

procedures will require significant changes to customers, vendors, internally etc. – basically to all participants in

the supply chain globally.

We offer an exciting opportunity for a project manager until end September 2016, who shall structure the project

towards the global steering committee and support the global organization. Furthermore, as the project has such a

significant impact to many people in the supply chain, it will require significant change management and

communication efforts to drive our global organization towards the objective of VCW – Improved Safety for on- and

offshore personnel as well as vessels, equipment and cargo involved.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Help define and manage program milestone/timeline schedule.
  • Drive the change agenda and cooperate with stakeholders internally (IT, commercial and operations) as well as externally (customers and vendors).
  • Develop and deliver a strong communication plan together with Maersk Line communication.
  • Establish strong project governance and reporting framework that all project members will adhere to.
  • Ensure alignment with template standards and support where needed.
  • Compile reports and status updates to all stakeholders.
  • Host regular updates to regional focal points.
  • Own the operating system (meeting of project, steering committee etc) and ensure strict adherence to all deliverables.
  • Ownership of budget.
  • Travel to regions where needed

 

Who we are looking for

  • A Person that enjoys a high-paced working environment.
  • A self-starter that drives for results.
  • We require fluency in oral and written English.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of project planning tools and methodologies e.g. Prince II.
  • 2-3 years of Project experience (preferably in a PMO context and with large scale programmes).
  • Ability to balance impact with and without authority.
  • Great IT skills as to Microsoft products.
  • International mind-set.
