Our graduate programme is a solid platform and a unique opportunity to use your degree to make a difference.
Scope of the programme

The aim of the Medical Writing Graduate Programme is to give you extensive exposure to varied medical writing tasks and tasks within a closely related professional field with a strong focus on competencies such as scientific communication, project management, business understanding, and regulatory understanding.
You will be given a broad range of medical writing responsibilities and experience a variety of tasks in a cross-disciplinary and cross-organisational global setting. You will get a unique insight into the full global development value chain of Novo Nordisk and be part of a highly skilled and motivated international working environment, with dynamic teams, each of which are providing Novo Nordisk with a competitive edge and driving state of the art drug development.
You will enjoy the privilege of being part of both formal and informal graduate networks which will allow you to broaden your learning’s even further, while building your opportunities and relationships across the company.
The job
The Medical Writing Graduate Programme is tailored to ensure your full personal and professional development, accelerated by prioritised training and dedicated coaching from experienced colleagues. The programme comprises three 8-month rotations during a two-year period.
The first rotation is planned to take place within Clinical Reporting at our headquarters in Denmark. The main purpose is to obtain an understanding of the Medical Writer’s areas of responsibilities within a clinical project, and to gain hands-on experience with medical writing tasks, e.g. preparation of regulatory documents and publications.
The second rotation is planned to be in an affiliate outside of Denmark. At this rotation you will get insight into medical writing from an affiliate perspective. This will give you a unique international perspective that will be of benefit in understanding different regulatory authorities’ requirements.
The third rotation will most likely take place at headquarters in Denmark, either in a department with close ties to Clinical Reporting, probably Clinical Pharmacology, or it could also be to Regulatory Affairs, Global Safety, or Global Medical Affairs. This will help build your network and provide broader insight into clinical development.
What does a Medical Writer do
A Medical Writer at Novo Nordisk is entrusted with a business critical responsibility for extracting and transforming complex clinical data into information that can be easily understood by the regulatory authorities. All documents are written in English.
A Medical Writer’s main tasks involve writing of regulatory clinical documents such as clinical trial reports, investigator’s brochures and summary documents. As we cover all clinical development projects within Novo Nordisk’s different therapy areas, the focus and tasks depend on the type of document and the life cycle stage of the project. Planning and coordination of activities in a cross-disciplinary setting is a central part of the job, and the Medical Writer must be capable of driving the writing process and manage the many stakeholders involved.
