The Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, seeks applications for a two year Postdoc position at the Center for Efficient Algorithms and Data Structures (EADS) headed by Professor Mikkel Thorup.



Other research areas in the department include programming language technology, combinatorial optimization, high-performance computing, data mining, and machine learning.



The candidate must have a strong background in algorithms. Candidates with publications at top algorithms/theory conferences STOC, FOCS, SODA, ICALP will be preferred.



The start date of the employment is negotiable.

- A letter describing your research interests, your main results, and your thoughts about - what to do during the two years

- Curriculum vitae

- List of publications

- Copy of Masters and PhD Diplomas and transcripts with relevant grades.

- Contact details of at least two persons for references



Procedures

An assessment committee will be appointed to evaluate the applications. The applicants will be notified of the composition of the committee and the final selection of a successful candidate will be made by the Head of Department, based on the recommendations of the assessment committee.



Terms of Employment

Terms of employment and payment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). For post docs the salary is based on seniority and is currently between DKK 32.095 and DKK 33.791 plus pension contribution and the possibility to negotiate further supplement.



Non-Danish and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reduction, if they have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years. Salary is paid according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC).
