Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on LAMP Developer to assist in development of Flexera Software’s Software Vulnerability Management technologies. These applications reduce application cybersecurity risks, identifying application vulnerability risks, prioritizing them for each specific customer, addressing those software vulnerabilities, primarily through security patches.
Cybercriminals routinely use vulnerabilities in software as gateways to exploit corporate networks. 60% of attacks in 2012 were performed by commercialized exploit toolkits, sold in the underground, allowing anyone to become a cybercriminal. Over 65% of the top threats in Q4 2012 used vulnerabilities to infect machines and perform malicious activities. Writing malicious code is not rocket science. In 2012, an 11 year old developed a Trojan to steal account login information from online gamers. According to IDC’s PeerScape: Practices for IT Asset Management – July, 2015, typically the documented cost of a cybersecurity breach is in the range of $2.5 million to $5 million. However, well publicized examples of breaches at Target, JPMorgan, Home Depot, Sony, and Best Buy could cost over $500 million.
Responsibilities / Qualifications:
- Collaborate with other developers and architects to build scalable, full-stack offerings
- Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives
- Stay current with industry trends and evaluate the adoption of new technologies in solution architectures
- Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors
- Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Expertise in PHP or Python
- Linux experience
- Proficiency with AWS (EC2, ELB, RDS, CloudFront, S3)
- Thorough understanding of MySQL including database design, encoding, performance
- Experience with NoSQL databases, including: MongoDB, Cassandra, or CouchDB
- Experience using Cloud Hosting Infrastructures (AWS or Rackspace preferred)
- Working knowledge with JavaScript and frameworks such as jQuery
- Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools: Jira, GitHub, Subversion
- Exposure to front-end development tools (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Experience using Cloud Hosting Infrastructures (AWS or Rackspace preferred)
- Experience with working in an Agile software development environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Existing approval to work in Denmark
