Begin your journey of a lifetime in September 2016.
If you are ready to discover just how far your talent can take you, we invite you to explore our Global Development Graduate Programme.
In Global Development, we lead the clinical activities from entering a clinical testing through the submission and approval phase and when the drug has entered the market. Our responsibility is to provide medical and scientific documentation for the clinical benefit-risk evaluation that is part of submission packages to authorities and which form the basis for guidance on how to use the medicines optimally to the benefit of patients.
We are +1,100 employees covering profiles such as trial managers, medical doctors, data managers, biostatisticians and many others. We conduct clinical trials in more than 50 countries and in 2014 we collaborated with app. 40.000 patients across 135 clinical trials.
Our graduate programme is a solid platform and a unique opportunity to use your degree to make a difference.
Scope of the programme
The two-year programme consists of three rotations in different parts of the Global Development organisation or areas with strong ties to Global Development - but anchored in the Epidemiology skill area. The aim of the Epidemiology Graduate Programme is to develop you through extensive epidemiological work with a strong focus on competencies as analytical skill, communication, team leadership and project management skills.
You will be given a broad range of responsibilities and experience a variety of tasks in a cross-disciplinary and cross-organisational global setting. You will apply your epidemiologic knowledge and skills to provide real world evidence from literature and real world data and studies to collaboration partners across the organisation. Your duties will be varied and diverse within pharmaco- and classical epidemiology, encompassing reviewing study designs and analytical methods, literature research and conducting your own analysis based on real world data. Moreover, you will be responsible for the reporting, communication and potential publication of major findings in a clear and convincing way.
You will get a unique insight into the full global development value chain of Novo Nordisk and will be part of a highly skilled and motivated international working environment. You will have interactions with many collaboration partners across the organisation – either when communicating epidemiological results internally or through contact with research organisations, commercial partners and academic institutions involved in analysis of epidemiological data.
You will enjoy the privilege of being part of both formal and informal graduate networks. This will allow you to broaden your learning even further, while building your opportunities and relationships across the company.
The job
The Epidemiology Graduate Programme is tailored to ensure your full personal and professional development, accelerated by prioritised training and dedicated coaching from experienced colleagues. The programme comprises three 8-month rotations during a two-year period.
The first rotation is planned to take place within Epidemiology in our corporate headquarters in Denmark. The main purpose of this rotation is an introduction to the epidemiological areas of responsibilities and at least one of our key projects, and to gain hands-on experience e.g. perform pharmaco-epidemiological analysis based on external databases or identify epidemiological reference data from the literature.
The second rotation is planned to take place in an affiliate outside of Denmark. In this rotation, the graduate will get insight into epidemiological work from the local and affiliate perspective. Furthermore, this rotation will give the graduate a unique international perspective that is invaluable as new markets continue to evolve for Novo Nordisk.
The third rotation is planned to take place at headquarters in Denmark, either in a department with ties to Epidemiology, within or outside Global Development. Possible areas could for instance be Global Safety, Global Stakeholder Engagement or Global Market Access. This will help to build network and showcase the importance of epidemiology within other areas in drug development and drug commercialisation.
What does an Epidemiologist do
