Global Technical Services is a globally recognized technical knowledge center within Wärtsilä. The main task of Technical Services is to provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders during the lifecycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by Wärtsilä. Wärtsilä Global Technical Services is now looking for a Technical Expert to strengthen our Diesel Engine Automation team.

About The Position



In this position you will further deepen your skills in areas such as UNIC and UNIC2 engine control systems. Engine performance tuning will be part of a normal working day. Location of this position is Vaasa or Turku, Finland.



Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Technical support for internal and external customers
  • Support and assist in commissioning and troubleshooting in field.
  • Engine software configuration and backup handling.
  • Occasional training for internal and external customers
  • Participate in field tests and report results
  • Create feedback analyses and product reports.
  • Create service bulletins and spare part bulletins
  • Software and hardware testing and validation in test rig and in the field
  • Engine parameter handling and validation

     

You will shine in this role, when you have

  • A genuine passion for engines and automation and a desire to make a difference
  • M.Sc or B.Sc in Electrical, Automation or equivalent education
  • Systematic way of working and good analytical skills
  • Understanding the importance of quality
  • Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Team player mindset
  • Readiness to travel

     

We would also value following:

  • Experience of Wecsplorer, WCT and UNITool software tools
  • Work experience of UNIC and other engine automation systems
  • Knowledge of engine performance tuning and internal combustion optimisation
