Biogen is looking for a new employee for their QC department, Bioassay and Virology which is part of the Global QC organization. This team is focusing on viral safety testing on In-Process samples as well as testing of release and stability samples in a variety of complex bioassays. We are currently looking for a scientist with experience in Bioassay and preferable Virology from Biotech/ pharmaceutical production and with a strong cGMP mindset. It is important to have a thorough understanding of what is urgent, and good in prioritizing accordingly with focus on delivering results in a timely manner.



The job:

As a scientist you will be part of a dynamic team of 10 ambitious colleagues (2 scientist and 8 technicians).You will refer to The Manager, QC Bioassay and Virology at Biogen. You will be working in a strong scientific environment, where you will be responsible for the in-process viral safety testing as well as ensuring timely release and stability testing related to bioassays of Drug Substances and Drug Products. You will both have the overview, but also spend time in the laboratory as well as handling procedure changes, deviations and troubleshooting on assay related investigations when needed. You can expect a dynamic and varied working day with an informal atmosphere.



Areas of Responsibilities:

•Scientific responsible for viral safety testing

•Scientific responsible for bioassays, including ELISA- and cell-based assay as well as coagulation assays

•Cell culture maintenance

•Writing of deviations, investigation and CAPAs

•Involvement in projects striving to improve QC globally

•Ensure compliance to cGMP

•You will be involved in validation and qualification of methods, reagents and analytical instruments



As the QC department is part of the Global QC organization you will have daily contact to colleagues both locally and in US. All communication is in English. Thus it is crucial that you feel confident communicating in English.

Your Professional Qualifications:

•More than 3 years of relevant experience from the biotech or pharmaceutical industry

•Solid working experience within virology

•Solid working experience with bioassay methods like ELISA- and cell-based assay.

•Minimum 3 years of working in a GMP environment

•Strong English skills verbally and in understanding

Your formal Education:

•You hold a Master of Science in Biochemistry, pharmacy or equivalent preferably combined with a Ph.D. or other relevant area.
