Piping & Instrumentation Engineer Holland (shipbuilding)

You design all types of piping systems for our ships, you perform calculations and are also involved in defining technical specifications.

FUNCTION

• Elaborating all types of piping schemes (cooling water, fuel, bilge and ballast…) in one-line diagrams (P&ID’s).
• Performing all necessary calculations (heat/cooling water balance) and specifying the needed appendages and instrumentation.
• Calculating diameters and thickness of pipes
• Keep the piping schemes up-to-date during all phases of the project and integrate the guidelines for installation.
• Specifying which components are needed (pumps, coolers, separators,…)
• Setting up technical specifications
• Evaluate offers from suppliers and assist the purchasing department, in cooperation with your teamleader, in making the final choice
• You are involved in the testing/commissioning (by classification agencies and clients)

PROFILE

• Mechanical engineering degree with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Previous experience in the shipbuilding industry
• Knowledge of CADMatic is an asset
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of international regulations and codes (classification agencies, international standards)
• You are an innovator who is always following the technological trends and evolutions
• Willing to relocate to Holland (long-term engagement!)
