Then you might be our new colleague. We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer to join the Nacelle Front Structure team. To put it short: Vestas Technology & Service Solutions develops the wind power systems of the future. Nacelle Front structure is a part of the Vestas Technology & Service Solutions. We have sites both in Denmark and India. The department is responsible for the nacelle front which consists of large structural components taking the wind load to the tower including the yaw system which support this loads transfer while it also orients the nacelle to maintain rotor upwind.

Working with yaw system is multiple competence challenge for a mechanical engineering as you will have to master casted iron components, large gear rings, yaw gears, bolted connections, electrical motors and inverters, lubrication and plastic. In the department we are responsible for design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production.

Additional we are also looking ahead to verify new technologies such that these can be part of future turbine projects.

Responsibilities: Accountable for the quality of own design work Responsible for generating creative solutions to design challenges, in order to fulfil the product and technology road maps Delivery of design work to gate reviews and to the project, matching specifications for function, cost, quality and time Work successfully with the departmental and project delivery teams by living up to the Vestas Values Design Engineer is responsible for providing the most robust, reliable, efficient design solution with highest performance and lowest cost. Take ownership of own career and competence development Maintain awareness of engineering practices and technology developments Safe working in line with HS&E policy Design Engineer is accountable for understanding, clarifying and documenting: Design specifications/requirements Design functionality, including functional HW/SW interfaces Design performance and reliability including lifetime estimates of the design Design verification and validation Design risk associated to the design Design safety Qualifications: M.Sc or B.Sc within Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar A couple of years’ experience You have experience in structural analysis including gear transmission Understanding and/or interest in system engineering Able to work with global suppliers and delegating and creating results through those as part of own deliveries

Competencies:

Experience in analysis of gear transmission Experience with FE analysis, preferable by using Ansys Experience with extreme and fatigue analysis Experience with analysis of joints primarily bolted joints. Familiar with Matlab Handle and coordinate interfaces Knowledge about test setup and data processing e.g. lifetime testing. Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessments, documentation High degree of personal planning Accountable and focus on deliver on time Focus on the project scope and able to understand the impact a scope change will have on the project Good English communication skills Team work including delegating task to other You should be able to identify yourself with our values: Proactive mindset Passionate
