Cegeka currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Java Developer to join our offices in Hasselt/Leuven. Cegeka uses Agile software development as an approach to deliver the highest value to the customer, always working in intense and close collaboration with the client in various sectors (banking, automotive, telecom,…..). The team works in an Agile environment (scrum, eXtreme Programming, Kan-ban board, Leankit….) and the projects can be executed @Cegeka offices in Leuven or Gent or @ clients’ premises.

What is the content of the job?
- Design and develop new features on enterprise projects using innovative tools and technology
- Hands-on design & development of software, including integration with external applications
- Being part of a team of functional analysists, developers and an agile projectleader/scrummaster you perform functional analysis and work on technical design according to the principle of pair-programming and test-driven development.
- You write clear and qualitative software (avoiding extensive documentation) and refactor where necessary
- You actively participate in continuous improvement of team working
- Depending on your level of knowledge, you guide and coach junior developers
- You are involved in presales where necessary
We are looking for:
A passionate J2EE developer with minimum a few years of professional experience in analyzing, designing and implementation of JAVA EE application, preferably large scale enterprise applications.
- You have an excellent knowledge off OO design, including design patterns. Knowing more OO or functional languages is a plus.
- You are experienced in application integration and have an extensive knowledge of relational databases, normalization and SQL.
- You are convinced of the Agile way of working, or at least open to work the Agile way.
- Motivation, open-mindedness, attitude and ability to work in a team are more important than the degree you obtained.
- You want to move to Belgium and master English.
- You are willing to work on different locations.
