We are looking for a candidate who has a primary background as an engineering manager, a design engineer or construction manager with a desire to develop into project management.
About the department
Global Research Business Support is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the entire research organisation. You will join a team of 12 dedicated employees who work within five different responsibility areas; Business Processes & Management Support, Research Project Planning & Portfolio Management, cLEAN® & Internal consulting, Outsourcing & Procurement and Capacity & Investments.
The job
As Investment Project Manager you will be responsible for defining and executing major investments in the range of DKK 15-50 million across the Global Research organisation. It will be your responsibility to support the line of managers in identifying, scoping and planning major investment proposals in order to obtain approval by relevant governance bodies. The investment projects in Global Research are mainly related to reconstruction of existing laboratories, offices, meetings rooms, utility and animal facilities. Furthermore, the project portfolio also includes large scale Greenfield projects for laboratories and animal Vivarium’s. On top of this, it is foreseen to have several infrastructure projects in the project portfolio, for example parking places/parking houses.
Typically, you will manage projects in collaboration with external suppliers, engineering partners and senior management. You will ensure progress, project reporting, risk mitigation, and managing complex changes when we rebuild or optimise equipment in our facilities. In all of your work you will ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
In collaboration with colleagues in GR Business Support and relevant stakeholders, the Investment Project Manager will be involved in planning and conducting the annual GR Investment Review and developing a 5-year investment strategy for Global Research.
The cooperation will be with our maintenance department, procurement, finance and also the researchers. External cooperation will mainly be with vendors, contractors and engineering companies in the region of Copenhagen.
Qualifications
Ideally, you have completed a relevant Master’s Degree or you have another technical background that qualifies you for this challenge. You have at least 4-5 years of experience as a project manager within the pharmaceutical industry. You may also have relevant experience from engineering or construction projects. Ideally, you also have some experience with engineering design, installation or the commissioning of laboratory, production, utility or office facilities.
You are ambitious with a high level of drive, initiative and persistency. You are result-oriented and like to be challenged. You thrive in an environment with many stakeholders and are able to facilitate cross organisational collaborations. You must have a positive “can-do” attitude that you can apply to your project team and you are always prepared to adapt to a fast moving environment. Ultimately, you are a strong communicator capable of preparing clear and concise top-down communication material for Senior Management and steering groups.
