About the department
Strategic Analytics, Insights & Forecasting, part of the ‘Commercial Planning’ area in Marketing & Medical Affairs focuses on analysing market dynamics, identifying trends and forecasting market development, as well as providing insightful analyses to senior management and other parts of the organisation.
The job
You will support Global Forecasting Managers in the Insights & Forecasting team. In this role you will support the optimisation and development of market performance reporting. Deliverables will be small projects that require communication skills, documentation, training of end-users and stakeholder management. You will be driving one of these projects with close supervision and guidance from one of the team members. You will also be involved in ad-hoc tasks of analysing market performance and explaining the dynamics and trends of the markets, providing input for brand strategy and tactic development.
Qualifications
We are looking for an intern who is passionate about analysing and understanding market trends and dynamics, and is interested in applying them in reports used for brand strategy development. You are currently studying your master’s degree in economics, marketing, strategy or other relevant fields and have demonstrated strong analytical and project management skills through your study. You are a super user of MS Excel and have general knowledge of MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP BW or Business Object is considered an asset. We expect the candidate to be goal oriented, thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude. Fluency in both oral and written English and excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are required.
You have a strong personal drive and dedication. You have the ability to digest comprehensive market and customer information, put findings into concise insights and communicate it to internal stakeholders. You must have strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
Practicalities
Qualification: Students in their first or second year of their master studies.
Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 5-6 months.
Start date: 01 February 2016.
