Wärtsilä Energy is looking for a Director, Strategy & Business intelligence. In this role you will be part of the Energy Strategy & Business development team and report to Anja Frada, Vice President Strategy & Business development. In this role you will be responsible for the Energy Business strategy creation, framework, process, and implementation. You will work in close cooperation with several stakeholders from business, area, and group.

Position location is open, but preferably in Finland.



Responsibilities

  • Lead the Energy business strategy process, develop the strategy framework, implement strategic initiatives through must win battles and follow-up of strategic actions.
  • Support Business units and Areas with their strategy development and implementation, driving the organization towards its strategic targets
  • Facilitate strategy workshops and translate strategy into actions
  • Ensure that strategic objectives are defined based on short-term and long-term aspirations for value creation
  • Design, develop and deploy the best practices for strategy implementation and continuous renewal
  • Ensure active strategy communications and ensure alignment in the organisation
  • Continuously evaluate and validate the fit of the existing strategy and related targets to prevailing market realities
  • Support growth by constantly seeking for new business opportunities
  • Lead the Strategy and Business Intelligence team

     

As an ideal candidate you would have:

  • Strategic and analytical thinking combined with a positive, can-do mind-set and goal-orientation.
  • Structured approach, project management skills and proven track record of prior work in strategy.
  • Ability to involve and gain commitment from people without formal authority.
  • Advanced skills in facilitation, presentation and problem solving.
  • Advanced skills in strategy communication, both written and verbal, including strategy related workshops and presentations for executives
  • Strong experience from Energy industry is seen as clear advantage and critical competence
  • Understand business objectives and customer value creation
  • MSc or equivalent technical or commercial degree
  • Financial knowledge and analytical skills
  • Team leadership experience and ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams
  • Strategic oriented mind-set, positive and analytical approach
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Ability to travel
