Business Process Management Leader
Brief Description
Purpose: The Business Process Management Leader facilitates the harmonization and standardization of the FLSmidth business process and systems landscape.
The role reports to Head of Solution Design. Solution Design is responsible for: IT solution design, harmonization and standardization of the FLSmidth business process and systems landscape, managing demand from Business and setting a pipeline of activity for a global IT group function called GBS (Group Business Solutions).
GBS is a team of approximately 330 people, who are based in Denmark, India, US, Germany, Australia and many other locations in the FLSmidth network. Their purpose is to provide FLSmidth with stable and efficient business processes and IT systems. GBS partner with executive management to determine priorities, and then implement the changes into the business through projects. GBS also provide ongoing support via the service desk and local IT.
As Business Process Management Leader you will be working out of Copenhagen in an international environment. You will head a team of Business Process Managers, which together with stakeholders from business and GBS, develop and execute optimization initiatives within IT system and business processes.
FLSmidth offers a variety of services to our customers and your role is to support each service with world-class IT platforms and business processes. You will focus on End2End offerings (e.g. order to cash) and secure alignment between relevant stakeholders in business e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain Management & Finance.
The Business Process Management department develop, document and align business processes throughout FLSmidth where it creates value, and adapt to local requirements where needed to support our customers.
Detailed Description
To be successful, the Business Process Management Leader will focus on 6 main areas:
· Facilitate the simplification of FLSmidth business processes for each functional area and ensures the future IT platform is standardized and cost effective
· Drive the project portfolio plan and prioritization process, together with the Executive Business Process Owners
· Mature project proposals in cooperation with business stakeholders and Group Business Solutions
· Drive the governance process and ensure quality in change requests, business cases and project proposals, before submission for approval
· Clearly communicate and articulate decisions to all level of the organization, including BPM governance structure
· Lead & Develop the Business Process Management Organisation. Ensure staff members are:
a. highly skilled in process development and implementation
b. equipped with industry knowledge and can implement best practice
c. effective stakeholder managers and can work in co-operation with the Executive Business Process Owners
Medium and long term success criteria:
· Create a common process language and process lifecycle, for implementation across FLSmidth
· Establish a method for process collaboration and communication
· Establish process control and measurement
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
· Work with Executive Business Process Owners, divisions and group functions to mature and recommend GBS project pipeline within project budget guidelines
· Manages Projects and Changes Requests through step 0-1-2 in the stage gate model
· Plan process documentation per BPM area using BPMN 2.0
· Facilitate process improvement workshops using lean methodology together with stakeholders from business and GBS
· Prepare material for the EBPO forum and Investment Board
· Work with roll out teams and development teams to improve business processes and IT platforms in a standardized and cost effective way
· Communicate governance changes and requirements to relevant stakeholders
· Provide leadership, manage the BPM organization and monitor performance
· Interview, approve and coordinate resources
· Establish user communities within BPM areas
· Provide FLSmidth with a collaboration platform that supports the standardization agenda and promotes a 'best practice' sharing culture
Job Requirements
Educational / Technical Qualifications
· Relevant educational background within engineering and or commercial/IT
· +10 years’ experience within business and IT optimisation programs with a proven track record
· End2end experience in EPC business (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) as well as Product and Services sales
· Experiences with Lean & BPM 2.0 are preferred but not essential
