The University of Copenhagen seeks to appoint an associate professor at the Medical Psychology Unit, Department of Public Health and Center for Healthy Aging. The position is funded by the Center for Healthy Aging and is a part-time (50%) position limited to December 31, 2018.

Job description
The Unit of Medical Psychology is the psychology unit of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. The Center for Healthy Aging primarily focuses on multi-disciplinary aging research and offers opportunities for interaction with leading aging researchers in a broad range of fields from molecular biology to the humanities. The position includes research and teaching within the area of healthy aging with emphasis on neuroimaging in populations. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and conducting a large scale Magnetic Resonance Imaging-based cohort study and for collaboration with the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR) based at Copenhagen University Hospital, Hvidovre. The DRCMR is one of the leading research centers in Europe within the field of biomedical MRI.
The associate professor’s duties will primarily consist of:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination
- Research-based teaching, including associated examination
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments
Required qualifications include
The successful candidate should be able to document:
- Research qualifications achievable in a position as assistant professor or equivalent within the subject area
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies*
- Research-based teaching, supervision experience and experience with course leadership
*If the applicant has no previous teaching experience through employment as an assistant professor or has not achieved pedagogical competencies, the appointment may be probationary for 1 ½ years.
The applicant should be able to document experiences regarding studies of inequalities of health, health services utilization and medical indicators of outcomes of health care and proven proficiency with quantitative methodologies.
The applicant should be able to document research leadership in a multidisciplinary environment, original scientific work at an international level within the area of population studies and neuroimaging.
The associate professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills.
Terms of employment
The terms are set according to the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organization. The post is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities (2013).
