Nordvärmlands Smådjurspraktik is a privately owned practice celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. With two clinics in the middle part of sweden, close to Norway, we focus mainly on treating small animals such as cats and dogs.
Our clinic in Torsby is just 40km away from the norwegian border. Our closest large international airport is Gardermoen outside of Oslo about 145km away. It is also close to ski-resorts such as Hovfjället and Branäs. Just around the corner we have Torsby airport and the nordics first ski-tunnel. We have beautiful nature with lots of hiking trails and opportunities for fishing and hunting. Even though Torsby is a small town we do have a few national stores, restaurants, a hospital and a police office.
We have a large and stable staff of animal caretakers, nurses, receptionists and a biomedical analyst but as many others we are looking for more veterinarians. Before the pandemic we had a strong focus on attending courses to further develop our knowledge and competence which we plan on returning to.
At our clinic in Torsby we have the ability to diagnose and treat animals with tools such as: x-ray, ct-scan, ekg, ultrasound, a full blood sample lab and a rehab area with a water treadmill, obstacles and laser therapy.
Our second smaller clinic is in Malung, Dalarna. Malung is a town very similar to Torsby in size. In Malung we have a newly built facility which unfortunately due to the pandemic has been delayed in getting all its equipment. We have started with a lab area and in the future we will also have x-ray capabilities.
