Biogen in Hillerød is looking for an experienced Scientist to join the Manufacturing Sciences Cell Culture team.

The Manufacturing Sciences Cell Culture team is a highly skilled team who has the technical ownership of our cell culture manufacturing processes. We interact with numerous departments to ensure successful tech transfers, smooth resolution of process issues and effective execution of projects. We work in a world-class facility with both stainless steel large-scale equipment (15000 L) as well as a state-of-the-art laboratory for scale-down experiments, process support and technology improvements - at the interface between process development and full scale biologics manufacturing.

As a cell culture scientist/engineer, you will provide engineering and scientific expertise to support clinical, process validation and commercial cell culture manufacturing processes. These include partnered programs and external stakeholder management. You may lead or support cell culture tech transfer teams, develop project plans, timelines and communication forums to ensure smooth transfers. You will handle deviations and investigations and you will coordinate, plan and report process performance qualification studies. You will further support execution of lab-scale experiments to aid in manufacturing trouble-shooting and optimization efforts.

Additionally, you will work to identify opportunities to improve systems and practices, and provide direction to technical development teams. You will play a key role in local as well as global projects that span multiple departments and cross-functional areas, including departments such as Technology Development, Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, Compliance, and Quality Assurance.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Cell Culture, Manufacturing Sciences and you will be a part of a team of dedicated, highly competent colleagues focusing on cell culture operations.

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience, depending on educational background, in biopharmaceutical or related field

• Broad background with biologics process development and/or manufacturing

• Experience with animal cell culture technology and ideally also with purification

• Capability to absorb and utilize new knowledge quickly and drive data-based decisions

• Experience with root cause investigations and data analysis Personal Qualifications:

Education

Ph.D. level degree or alternatively M.Sc./process engineer degree with several years of industry experience in a relevant biopharmaceutical or related field.
